A little about Katy...

So this is weird. I mean, I'm not sure how to write about myself without coming off as a little carefree... or silly... or weird, let alone trying not to come off as loud, energetic, in your face and what some would call as a little too optimistic. But I guess I can't really change who I am so you're just going to have to deal.

I've been diagnosed/ clinically termed as "hyper focused". If you're scratching your head trying to figure out just what that means I'll try and help you out. From my understanding (thanks wikipedia!), it means I have the tendency to get intensely focused on one subject. Or in my case, I have a very narrow focus for learning techniques on how to make things, or get very focused one doing on thing. Because of this wonderful blessing, my brain has allowed me to be interested in a lot (read: A LOT) of different things. These things include: pastry and baked goods decorating, wood working, scrapbooking, sewing, cross stitching, refurbishing and repurposing used furniture, cooking... lots and lots of cooking, building a computer (in the process, actually) and the list goes on.

I don't mean to say that I dabble in them and then run away... I just get hyper focused on learning the how-to. And by learning, I generally work my way up from doing the project poorly, to decently to pretty good. I've got a pretty good system worked out. Then I step away, and come back to doing those particular crafts over time.

What else? I guess I should say that I'm still practically just out of the womb at a whopping twenty years old. Which to me doesn't feel too young, but when I talk to a lot of other people (especially on the internet) I feel like I little baby floating around the blogosphere compared to all of the women who have fantastic and popular blogs!

I live in College Station, Texas and attended Texas A&M University! WHOOP! I'll be graduating in four short semesters (hopefully) and then will work on my Masters in Education! I plan on teaching high school english.

As for my other interests, they are ridiculously varied, and honestly make no sense as to how they are related. I'm an avid reader, and also a fast reader. I practically devour books. I love to write and am actually  majoring in english. I also love video games, and play daily. If you follow me on Twitter (I'm pretty sure it's linked about a hundred times on my blog) you would probably already know that.

I'm a pretty emotional person. I cry at movies, TV, previews and commercials, anything happy makes me a big fat sap. That said, I can be pretty passionate about the things I love and also my opinions. But, despite how emotional I am, I do approach most things and my own opinions logically and you can see most of those opinions in a lot of my older blog posts!

I really do hope that you follow my blog, give me feedback, share it, whatever! Thanks for reading.
